Blogging is to the Internet what breathing is to the
real world, and WordPress is now one of the sites and
programs of choice for bloggers.

Through WordPress, bloggers can organize their thoughts
and opinions, post their blog entries quickly, and
document what other bloggers in their immediate
environment and social circles have to say about current
issues.

The blogging revolution does not stop at personal
diaries: it has extended toward branding companies,
official newsletters, and message boards for fan groups.

Blogging has spawned bywords, and has made silenced
voices all the more audible online.

The blogging phenomenon has in fact become so popular,
it has allowed people to earn money through their
blogging abilities. People have earned money because of
blogs that devote themselves to customer feedback, while
other bloggers have earned money because they can
document their travels vividly and comically. There are
many ways to earn money through blogging, and the nature
of WordPress allows bloggers to do exactly that.

There are actually free WordPress plugins available for
WordPress users who want to make money off their blogs.
Before downloading such plugins, however, you have to
make sure that your timing is right. Establish a user
and visitor base for your blog by updating it regularly
and keeping a blog theme that can be interesting to a
good number of people.

While many blog and marketing experts advocate that you
should try to make money off your blog immediately, any
sign of advertisements can turn a young blog into an
annoying disciple of hard selling marketing methods. You
can turn away potential customers, clients, or blog

earns revenues.

well displayed.

WordPress users can also use WP-Ads, which allows users
to create advertisement-posting regions on their sites.

they choose. There are other advertising companies that
have jumped onto the revenue-per-click bandwagon, and
WordPress plugins can cater to them. One such company is

accommodate the company’s advertisements.

You can also earn money from being an Amazon partner,
and the WP-Amazon plugin can allow you to market Amazon
products on your WordPress site.

This can be advantageous if your WordPress site is
devoted to reviewing certain products that are
available on Amazon. Your avid readers and followers
can buy products from Amazon after you review them,
thanks to the WP-Amazon plugin.

There are a good number of plugins that can allow you to
turn your WordPress site into an online store. The
CafePress WordPress plugin can bring your CafePress
store into your site, so you can post informative
articles and still sell your products. Also available
are plugins for an eMiniMall, which coordinates efforts
with Chitika’s eMiniMalls. If you want to add smaller
advertisements and reserve more space fore your online
store and entries, then you can put text ads on your
sidebar through the Text Ads Link Sidebar WordPress
Widget.

These are only a few plugins that can turn your
WordPress blog into a money-making machine. There are
still more plugins available, such as those that can
accommodate BidVertiser members, or those that can
rotate ads and banners to fit a site’s current colors,
theme, and layout. There are even plugins to accommodate
a shopping cart on your WordPress blog! Be updated
regularly by reading WordPress news, or consulting with
fellow WordPress members.

of obtaining traffic from social bookmarking sites.

You know… sites like Del.icio.us, Digg, StumbleUpon and
Reddit?

There is so much potential in these sites and internet
marketers and gurus gush over their efficacy at bringing
in traffic.   But how effective are these sites at
bringing quality traffic – the kind that we want, the
kind that builds our business?  And is bringing all that
traffic is really worth it?

Social bookmarking sites are sites where great articles
are bookmarked or tagged.  Tagging an article means
voting for it and people will only vote for your article
if they like it and want other people to read it.
Essentially, getting bookmarked means getting promoted
and the more promotion you get, the better traffic
you’ll receive.

Here are several reasons why traffic from social
bookmarking sites is well worth it:

The power of link building With social bookmarking sites,
you build up traffic by making use of other’s positive
opinions about you and your article.  If they like what
you’ve done, they vote for your article to let others

to build links to other sites (and vice versa) and

Higher Alexa ranking Traffic from social bookmarking
sites can get you noticed at Alexa.  The Alexa Ranking
you receive indicates the amount of traffic your site
gets.  A high Alexa ranking is indicated by a low number
while a low ranking means you don’t get enough traffic.
It does not reflect the amount of linkages, however,
even if it is related to traffic.

So what does your standing at Alexa mean to your site?
Plenty.  Your ranking is an indication of how well (or
badly) your site is performing compared to other sites.
It will also help you clarify certain positionings and
strategies you have employed in the past.

One thing about Alexa is that it will show you how much
traffic you receive but it is not always a good
indicator of how important your website is to search
engines.  If that is also your goal, you can combine
clever search engine optimization techniques to make
sure you increase your Page Rank AND your Alexa ratings.
