How To Avoid The 3 Most Common Affiliate Marketing Mistakes

Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways of earning some money online.

Affiliate marketing gives everybody a chance to make a profit through the Internet. Since these affiliate marketing programs are easy to join, implement and pays a commission on a regular basis, more an more people are now willing in this business.

However, like all businesses, there are lots of pitfalls in the affiliate marketing business. Committing some of the most common mistakes will cost the marketers a large portion taken from the profit they are making everyday. That is why it is better to avoid them than be regretful in the end.

Mistake number 1: Choosing the wrong affiliate.

Many people want to earn from affiliate marketing as fast as possible. In their rush to be part of one, they tend to choose a bandwagon product. This is the kind of products that the program thinks is “hot”. They choose the product
that is in demand without actually considering if the product appeals to them. This is not a very wise move obviously.

Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, try top choose a product in which you are truly interested in. For any endeavor to succeed, you should take some time to plan and figure out your actions.

Pick a product that appeals to you. Then do some research about that product to see if they are in demand. Promoting a product you are more passionate about is easier than promoting one for the sake of the earnings only.

Mistake number 2: Joining too many affiliate programs.

Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join multiples of affiliate programs to try and maximize the earnings you will be getting. Besides you may think that there is nothing wrong and nothing to lose by being part of many affiliate programs.

True, that is a great way to have multiple sources of income. However, joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at the same time will prevent you from concentrating on each one of them.

The result? The maximum potential of your affiliate program is not realized and the income generated will not exactly be as huge as you were thinking initially it would. The best way to get excellent result is by joining just one program that pays a 50% commission at least. Then give it your best effort by promoting your products enthusiastically. As soon as you see that it is already making a reasonable profit, then maybe you can now join another affiliate program.

The technique is to do it slowly but surely. There is really no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing. With the way things are going, the future is looking real bright and it seems affiliate marketing will be staying for a long time too.

Mistake number 3: Not buying the product or using the service.

As an affiliate, you main purpose is to effectively and convincingly promote a product or service and to find customers. For you to achieve this purpose, you must be able to relay to the customers that certain product and service.
It is therefore difficult for you to do this when you yourself have not tried these things out. Thus, you will fail to promote and recommend them convincingly. You will also fail to create a desire in your customers to avail any of what you are offering.

Try the product or service personally first before you sign up as an affiliate to see if it is really delivering what it promises. If you have done so, then you are one of the credible and living testaments aware of its advantages and
disadvantages. Your customers will then feel the sincerity and truthfulness in you and this will trigger them to try them out for themselves.

Many affiliate marketers make these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. To not fall into the same situation they have been in, try to do everything to avoid making the same mistakes.

Time is the key. Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check if you are in the right track. If done properly, you will be able to maximize your affiliate marketing earning.

To Your Affiliate Marketing Success,

The “Dark Side” Of Creating Passive Income Online?

We all know it’s a good thing to create multiple passive
income stream online – especially through information
products combined with affiliate marketing.

The benefits you often see listed include:

  • Spending lots of time with your love one.
  • Being able to work only when you feel like it.
  • The potential for unlimited financial income.
  • Flexible work schedule.

But there’s a dark side to taking that road that many
people quickly find out.

And that dark side could be you.

Optimists Who Play “Hookey”

There are all sorts and types of personalities in the
online community, but one type seen among entrepreneurs
is “The Creative Optimist”.

What’s a Creative Optimist?

It’s someone who in their own minds is already making
those millions – but only in their dreams.  This isn’t
necessarily a bad thing, if you’re using it to drive
yourself forward.

However, if you allow yourself to be tricked into
thinking your millions are just around the next virtual
corner, without any basis for that belief, you’re setting
yourself up for big trouble!

It’s easy to self-delude:

Products bombard your inboxes every hour, promising big
chubby 6 figure incomes in your underwear.

They leave us with a ton of information to assimilate and
use – we can keep ourselves really busy, without doing
anything productive at all.

But if you use your vision to drive yourself forward,
that’s a different matter altogether.

* Stay on target – focus only what you need to assimilate
“right now”

* Make sure you’ve made a business plan – and check off
every small goal as you reach them

* keep working hard.

Yep, it’s nice to take off for the golf course on a fine
morning, instead of being stuck in an office – and isn’t
that what having information products creating passive
income while you play is all about?

Sure it is! But not if you haven’t yet got to the point
where that income replaces your full-time salary.

Until that moment, it’s best to cut down on the “hookey”
days, and focus on maximizing the products you’ve got in
place, or working on the next price point in your
marketing sales funnel.

Well, okay. There’s no way you’re not going to take
advantage of a truly glorious morning – and the fact that
this is what you stayed home for, in the first place!

But do keep track of these “hookey” mornings, afternoons
– or days.

If you find yourself playing golf or hanging out three or
four times a week, and you’re not yet financially
independent, that’s a big “tip off” that you’re careening
off the course.

For now, keep the “hookey” mornings for those truly rare
perfect days.

Then they’ll seem like the privilege they truly are – and
you won’t have been lured to the Dark Side of passive
income, okay Luke ;)

Video Marketing – Making Video Marketing Work For Your Business

You’ve decided to make a video this time, to help sell
your product. If you’re nodding you’re head in agreement,
I’ve got three words of advice: “Just do it!”

It doesn’t matter if you have the latest software or a
top-of-the-line camcorder.

It doesn’t even matter if you’ve made a video marketing before.

The truth is, teens and pre-teens are uploading home-made
videos to YouTube every day – and getting views that
would make many marketers drool with envy!

There are 3 main keys to making a video that gets views:

1.  Keep it real. Your honesty and enthusiasm are what
will help sell your product – not whether or not you can
out-direct Quentin Tarantino

2.  Promote it.  Create a buzz. You can bet that’s what
the “kids” are doing – telling all their friends,
announcing the video using YouTube’s “Share” feature,
talking about it on Facebook, leaving comments on other
similar or related videos in their YouTube group…

3.  Make it interesting. It can be as flawed as all get
out, production wise, but if it’s interesting – even if
you have to stand on your head and juggle with your feet
– it will get views.

(And if it’s interesting enough, it may go viral!)

Here are some solid tips to help you get started…

The Most Importing Tip For Making a Successful Video –
First Time

1. Use a storyboard or rough script.

If you’ve never made a video before, chances are, you’re
going to either ramble on, using up precious seconds –
and rambling will tip your video firmly over into the
“boring” camp – or miss out vital information.

Using a storyboard or rough script will help you:

• Stick to the point

• Include everything you need included

If you are a “visual” learner, use a story board – quick,
scribbled thumbnail sketches (“stick people” are fine)
showing each point in “frames” (think of it as a comic
book page).

If you do better with lists, use a rough script. This is
not the sort of script you read word for word – doing
that would ensure you ended up with a “wooden”, deadly
dull video. Rather, just a reminder of the key points you
need to include (such as your call to action, and website
URL).

Shoot your video, edit, upload to YouTube – and promote.

The important thing to remember in all of this is… yup,
you got it:  “Just do it.”

Five Steps To Launching Your Own Affiliate Program

You have heard that an affiliate program can help grow
your business, how beneficial it can be and why it is a
good investment. So you are convinced, but how do you get
started?

Launching an affiliate program can take your business to
new heights and these five steps will help you get there.

Step 1: Choose your software. Before you begin creating
your affiliate program, you will need to decide which
affiliate management software is right for you.

Take the time to research the different programs
available to you. You will need to take a look at product
reviews, user recommendations, and if possible, reach out
to other business owners who have used programs you are
considering in order to get the most accurate feedback.

The affiliate management software you choose will be an
extremely important investment as you begin your program
and later, manage it in the most effective and efficient
way possible.

Profits
Affiliate software.

Step 2: Create your program. Once you have selected your
affiliate management software, you will need to make some
basic decisions about what it will look like.

Begin by writing the terms and conditions of your
affiliate program. Decide whether you will offer a
two-tiered or multi-tiered structure. In addition, you
will also need to write your affiliate agreement, which
will outline what is expected of your affiliates and what
they can expect from you.

While it is not always necessary, you may want to
consider hiring an attorney to review your terms and
conditions and affiliate agreement to ensure you have
covered all of your bases.

Step 3: Build your team. The only way to grow your
affiliate program and build a team of affiliate marketers
is to let them know you are out there.

The best way to do that is to list your new program on
various affiliate directories online where affiliate
marketers can find you. And having already selected a
robust affiliate management software program, you can
rest assured that once they find you and are directed to
your site, they can easily sign up and automatically
receive the tools they need to get started.

Step 4: Offer incentives. Not only are you competing
within your niche to make your business succeed, but you
will now have to focus on offering an attractive
affiliate marketing program with plenty of incentives in
order to build a team of dedicated, profit-producing
affiliate marketers.

With competitive commissions, potential for growth and
the occasional opportunity for bonuses, you can attract
affiliate marketers who know how to work hard and produce
results.

Step 5: Equip your team for success. Make sure that your
affiliate marketers have the tools they need to properly
market your business. Provide them with materials such as
banner ads, email ads and articles.

In addition, offer to share educational materials with
them and make sure they are on top of the latest industry
trends, marketing strategies and affiliate marketing
tactics. When they succeed, you succeed, so you will want
to stay on top of their efforts

Learn How to Promote Your Mini Site For Free.

Large website with big budgets often spend millions of
dollars on advertising campaigns. They plaster their URL
on billboards across the nation, buy full-page spreads in
magazines and spend small fortunes on pay per click
advertising. How can a mini site run by your average Joe
compete with that?

A better question might be, “Why should a mini site try
to compete with that?” A mini site usually consists of
one, or at most a few, pages. And it targets a very
specific market niche. An ad in the New York Times would,
in the overwhelming majority of cases, be overkill.

Promoting a mini site is doable on a mini budget. In
fact, it is entirely possible to promote your mini site
without spending a dime. Getting traffic may take a
little more time and effort than if you spent big bucks,
but your profit margin will be much higher.

Here are some free methods for promoting your mini site:

Do your own SEO.

There is a small learning curve, but you can do it
yourself. And once you get it right, your search engine
placement will keep the traffic coming.

Submit articles to free reprint sites, such as
EzineArticles.com. Include a link to your site in the
resource box. The article must include the resource box
whenever it is reprinted, so you’ll get links from
anyone who uses your content.

Join forums that appeal to members of your target market.
Participate in discussions, and include a link to your
site in your signature.

Comment on blogs. Most will include a link to your site
with your comment. This will help boost your search
engine rankings and could result in click-through
traffic.

Contact bloggers that reach your target market and ask to
write a guest post for them. This is a great way to
establish yourself as an expert and create interest in
your site.

Write a special report, making sure to include a link to
your site. Then contact others who sell information
products and ask them if they would like to give it away
as a bonus with their product.

Write a press release. Submit it to press release
websites, online publications and bloggers.

You don’t have to spend obscene amounts of money to get
the word out about your mini site. With some creativity,
you can start getting traffic without spending a dime on
advertising.
